Why FHIR R4
FHIR R4 is the widely-adopted baseline for healthcare interoperability (and underpins national programmes in the UK, US and beyond). Using it means Desha.ai data is portable and integrable rather than locked in a proprietary format, directly serving the GDPR right to data portability.
Resources we model
- Patient, Practitioner and RelatedPerson for identity and care relationships.
- MedicationRequest, Medication and MedicationStatement / dose events for adherence.
- Observation and CarePlan for measured outcomes and the Health Responsibility Score context.
- Consent for the consent record that governs access.
Exchange & security
FHIR exchange uses a RESTful API secured with OAuth 2.0 and SMART-on-FHIR-style authorisation, scoped to the consent on record. The same encryption and access controls described elsewhere in this Trust Center apply to every exchange.
